Ruffle (Cat)


The breed has both a curled ear and a curled coat. The ears are set on the corner of the head. Tfhey are firm to the touch, erect and open, curving bgack in a smooth arc towards the center of the back of the skull. The coat should be waved over the entire body, legs and tail.


General: The breed has both a curled ear and a curled coat. The ears are set on the corner of the head. The ruffle should be a well-balanced medium sized cat. Males may be slightly larger than females.

Head: The head should be a modified wedge, longer than wide. There may a break in the muzzle when viewed from the front. The profile of the nose should be straight with a slight rise from the bottom of the eyes to the forehead.

Ears: Sould be large, wide at the base, and firm from the base to at least one third of the way up the ear at which point they curl toward the middle of the back of the head.

Eyes: Moderately large; walnut-shaped. Eye color according to coat color; pointed pattern must be blue.

Body: Medium size and boning. Moderately developed strength and tone. Shape slender, rectangular. Neck in equal proportion to the body size. Tail wide at the base, tapering, in equal proportion to body length

Legs and Feet: Legs medium in proportion to body size. Hind legs slightly longer than front legs. Set straight when viewed from the front or back. Feet medium to small and rounded.

Coat: No undercoat. Deep marselling is preferred. May be long or short. On the short hair, coat is fine, soft, short and dense with a silk like feel. The long hair coat should look permed and feel soft. Penalize: bareness of any portion of the body except underbelly and ears.

Color and Markings: All color and patterns are acceptable. Lockets and groin spots are acceptable.

Condition: Should be physically and tempermentally a well-balanced cat, gentle and amenable to handling.

NFA: Crossed eyes, visible abnormality of the tail, presence of coarse or guard hairs. Deep nose break; extreme curl of ears where the tip of the ear touched the back of the head.
